Signature moves
expose
Cards fade up like a lamp warming: opacity 0→1 with brightness 2.2→1 and a 3px→0 soften.
iris-in
Scenes open from a soft circle at the centre (or on the subject).
iris-out
Scenes and title cards close to a soft circle.
undercrank
Everything that moves inside a picture moves at 12 fps.
gate-weave
The whole film layer drifts ±1–2px on a 6-frame loop; overlays stay put.
flicker
Projector lamp breathing: a bg layer at 2–16% opacity on a 7-step loop.
splice-flash
Hard cut = 1–2 over-bright frames (ink screen at 75% → 25%).
dip
End of a sequence: the card dips to black before the next iris-in.
Sound
Solo piano or small theatre orchestra (piano, violin, clarinet, light percussion) in a 1920s idiom: ragtime for comedy, romantic waltz for heritage, tremolo strings for drama. Slight room reverb, mono feel.
Voice
Usually none — the cards speak. If VO is required: a warm 1920s-style announcer, measured 110–125 wpm, slightly theatrical, band-limited (300 Hz–5 kHz).
